About this painting.
I created “Cairngorms Waterfall Abstract” as a tribute to the raw, elemental energy of the highland landscape. In my mind’s eye I stood beside a tumbling waterfall in the Cairngorms, listening to the thunder of the falling water, the spray suspended in mist, the moss-clad rocks glowing in soft Scottish light.
Using sweeping, gestural brush-marks I sought to capture not just the physical form of the waterfall but its rhythm, motion and mood. The palette is deliberately rich yet atmospheric: deep forest greens, slate greys, turquoise flashes of rushing water, and soft ivory highlights where light penetrates the mist. The abstract treatment allows me to emphasise the emotional resonance of the scene rather than simply depict it.
In framing the composition, I focussed on vertical thrusts echoing the downward surge of water, contrasted by diagonal gestures suggesting the rock faces and the way light breaks across surfaces. Texture is important: impasto builds suggest rock and spray, while smoother transitions evoke the mist-laden air. When a viewer stands in front of the canvas I hope they feel drawn into that wild moment in the Highlands - the hush, the roar, the fresh chill of water and stone.
Every stroke was made with a sense of place: the ancient geology, the water’s determined flow, the Highland light that shifts so swiftly. The painting is the meeting point of memory, place and emotion.
Thanks for viewing and reading about my artwork, and please don't hesitate to get in touch with any questions, Kevin.

My Gallery-Quality Canvas Prints | Ready-to-Hang Wall Art
I absolutely love the way my paintings look on canvas. There's a depth and tactile texture that gives the artwork a contemporary, gallery-like feel, almost as if you're looking at the original piece. That's why I’m so excited to offer my art on these beautiful, hand-stretched canvases.
Each one is a finished piece of wall art, designed to be a centrepiece in your home the moment it arrives. I’ve worked with a specialist team to ensure every detail meets my high standards, from the vibrant printing to the sturdy, hand-finished frame.
My Commitment to Quality in Every Canvas:
Vibrant, Textured Giclée Canvas: I use the giclée printing method to reproduce my artwork directly onto a finely textured, artist-grade cotton canvas. This process is renowned for its outstanding clarity and detail, while the canvas itself provides a beautiful, tactile finish that truly brings the colours and brushstrokes to life.
Archival Quality & 100+ Year Colour Guarantee: To ensure your art lasts a lifetime, I use fade-resistant, archival-quality inks. I’m so confident in their longevity that I guarantee the colours on your canvas will remain deep, rich, and vibrant for over a century.
Professional Gallery Stretcher Bars: The canvas is meticulously hand-stretched over a sturdy, professional artist's stretcher frame. I insist on using bars milled from the finest quality, kiln-dried knotless pine. This prevents the frame from ever warping or bowing, ensuring your artwork remains perfectly taut.

My Signature Framed Canvas | The Modern Floating Frame
For me, this is the ultimate way to display my art on canvas. The floater frame is my personal recommendation for anyone wanting to create a true statement piece for their home. It combines the rich, textured presence of a stretched canvas with the refined elegance of a solid wood frame, creating a stunning, three-dimensional effect that I absolutely love.
The canvas appears to "float" within the outer frame, a sophisticated presentation style used by high-end art galleries around the world. It’s a beautifully finished, contemporary piece of wall art, designed to become the centrepiece of any room the moment it's hung.
Why I Believe This is the Ultimate Finish:
The Modern Floating Frame: I've chosen a minimalist, solid wood frame that sits just off the edge of the canvas. This creates a subtle shadow and the beautiful illusion that the artwork is suspended or floating. At a substantial 38mm deep, this frame adds a touch of gallery-level sophistication and provides a clean, polished edge to the artwork.
Premium Stretched Canvas: The artwork inside is my signature giclée canvas, printed on artist-grade cotton to capture the stunning clarity and detail of my original painting. Its clean white canvas edges sit neatly within the "float" space, adding depth and a crisp finish.
100+ Year Colour Guarantee: Just like all my fine art prints, this framed canvas is created using archival, fade-resistant inks. I’m proud to guarantee that the colours will remain rich, deep, and true for over a century.
Expertly Hand-Finished & Ready to Hang: The canvas is professionally mounted within the floater frame by a specialist team here in the UK. The entire piece arrives as a single, solid unit. It is a complete, finished work of art, ready for you to display.
