About this painting.
There's a special kind of quiet that falls over the Scottish Highlands in winter, especially after fresh snow. That stillness is what I wanted to capture in this original painting, "A Winter Highland Tree." I was struck by the stark beauty of this lone tree standing resilient against the cold, a dark silhouette against the bright, snow-covered landscape and the soft, diffused winter light in the sky.
