Ah, Ben Tee near Invergarry... standing before that Mountain, you really feel the majestic scale of the Scottish Highlands. When I set out to create this original painting, my goal wasn't just to capture the likeness of the mountain, but the feeling of being there – that vast, atmospheric sense of space and the unique Highland light.
You'll notice the textures I've worked into the foreground, trying to convey the rough, beautiful terrain underfoot. For me, painting Scottish landscapes is all about translating those sensory details. The way the light hits the slopes of Ben Tee, the dramatic shifts in colour across the sky and land – that's what I aimed to capture in this original painting from Scotland.
This piece is a very personal interpretation, born from my travels through Invergarry and the surrounding Great Glen. It’s an atmospheric landscape painting, trying to bottle some of that wild, dramatic Highland spirit. I wanted the viewer to feel the mood, perhaps even the chill in the air or the warmth of a fleeting sunbeam breaking through the clouds.
