About this painting.
Plockton... it's one of those uniquely charming spots in the Scottish Highlands. When I decided to capture it in this original painting, I wanted to convey that almost idyllic feeling you get there – the calm waters of the harbour reflecting the colourful houses and boats, all under that special West Highland light.
This isn't just a representation; it's about the atmosphere. I focused on the interplay of light on the water and the textures of the village nestled against the shore. As a contemporary Scottish artist, capturing the essence and mood of these iconic locations, like Plockton village, is what drives my work.
