About this painting.
As a Scottish artist, I'm constantly drawn to the dramatic landscapes of my homeland. The Isle of Arran, in particular, holds a special place in my heart. This original painting, "The Sleeping Warrior, Arran," is my attempt to capture the mystical beauty of the island's northern hills as they form the iconic silhouette of a resting giant.
I've always been captivated by the way the light plays on the mountains, especially during sunrise and sunset. In this piece, I've used a palette of rich, atmospheric colors to convey the ever-changing mood of the Scottish weather. The bold strokes and layers of paint are my way of expressing the raw, untamed spirit of the landscape.
