Commission Your Own Bespoke Painting of Scotland
As a Scottish artist deeply inspired by the dramatic landscapes of Scotland, I specialise in commissioned original paintings that bring to life the evocative moods and unique light that define our natural surroundings. I invite you to collaborate with me to create a truly personalised artwork that reflects your vision and connection to Scotland.
A Collaborative Process:
The creative journey begins with your ideas and inspiration. Together, we will discuss the elements that matter most to you – from the colour palette that complements your interior décor to the atmospheric tone of the piece. Using my Haar Horizon - Original Abstract Impressionistic Painting from the Abstract & Impressionistic Art Gallery as a starting point, or drawing on your own photographs and concepts, I will craft a bespoke composition that resonates with your personal taste and the essence of Scottish landscapes.
Commission Details:
Each original painting is carefully created on a high-quality, deep-edge canvas with a depth of 3.8cm (1.5 inches), offering a substantial presence and durability. Originals typically take around 4 weeks to complete, ensuring meticulous attention to detail. Bespoke sizing options are available to perfectly suit your space, whether for a residential setting or a commercial interior.
Professional framing services are also offered at wholesale prices to complement and protect your new artwork. For enquiries about framing or custom commissions, please get in touch directly.
Haar Horizon is an atmospheric abstract seascape that captures the moment a sea haar rolls in at dusk and the line between land, sea and sky begins to dissolve. Broad, softly layered passages of slate blue, smoky violet and weathered copper fill the sky, shifting gently from cool to warm across the canvas with no single bright point of light, just the quiet glow of the last of the day held within the mist.
Low on the canvas, a broken, uneven band of near-black hints at a distant shore before merging back into water and sky. Below it, the sea is built from layers of grey-green, indigo and muted ochre, worked over with fine palette-knife scrapes. Thin runs of thinned paint and ink travel horizontally across the canvas from both the left and right edges, following the horizon and the water, some stopping short, others tapering to a fine point.
The surface combines calm, softly blended areas with heavily textured passages, where scraped and layered mixed media catch the light and reward a closer look. Its wide, open composition and restrained palette give it real presence on a large wall, making it a striking focal point for a living room, dining room, hallway or office, and a natural partner for slate, linen, natural wood and deep blues.
